What Are the Benefits of a Latex Coating?

Latex is an incredibly durable, cost-efficient coating. Because of its widespread use and subsequently inexpensive nature, gloves manufactured with it are inexpensive whilst remaining high quality. Latex coated gloves tend to have a higher puncture and tear resistance than their nitrile counterparts.

What are the benefits of a latex coating?

What Is a Crinkled Palm Coating?

A crinkle palm coating refers to the stippled effect on the palm and fingertips which enhances grip strength and stability when handling material, objects and products. The textured fabric works better than a smooth finish as it gets hold of whatever you're carrying and prevents it sliding off, reducing the chance of drops and accidents.

How Does an Elasticated Wrist Work?

Polyco Matrix S Grip Handling Gloves are designed with an elasticated knit cuff that flexes with your wrist as it moves, creating a snug, comfortable fit that doesn't ride up or down. A robust knit wrist cuff also prevents dirt, debris and dust commonly found lingering in warehouses and factories from entering the glove at the wrist.

Seamless Breathable Polycotton Liner Enhances Comfort

Wearing safety gloves for a long period of time can cause perspiration and sweat to build up in the fabric, creating nasty smells and irritation if the correct level of ventilation isn't present. Polyco Matrix Gloves are made with breathable, highly porous material that allows air, sweat, odour and perspiration to exit naturally, leaving your hands smelling and feeling fresh at the end of the day.

The Latex Grip Of The Polyco S Grip Gloves Makes Handling Tasks Easy

How Comfortable Are Matrix S Grip Safety Gloves?

Safety gloves are only as good as they are comfortable. If you're working long hours wearing gloves, you're going to struggle if they're not suitable for the job.

Manufactured using premium-quality polycotton, Polyco Warehouse Handling Grip Gloves are designed with comfort and longevity in mind. Wear them day in, day out without complaint.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.
