  • First responders at the scene of accidents
  • Emergency services

  • Use by police for method of entry
  • General law enforcement use
  • Extrication

The HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves are manufactured from a range of high quality materials that are designed to give the best level of protection against a number of threats. The gloves utilise different materials in different areas to give you protection that is tailored — for example, the knuckles have high impact resistance while the palms have better resistance against cuts.

Physically Resistant Palm

The HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves use SuperFabric brand material for the palm, providing ISEA Level 5 cut resistance. This makes the gloves ideal for dealing with extremely sharp edges for example glass and blades. To make the palm even more resistant, the HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves features TP-X palm reinforcement patches that provides resistance against abrasion.

Superb Grip for Better Control

The palm of the HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves features a printed PVC synthetic leather provides greater grip in dry or light oil situations. On top of this, the Durable TP-X palm reinforcement patches (which are primarily for abrasion resistance) also help to ensure that the outer layer of the palm has an oil-resistant grip.

Full Impact Exo-Skeleton

Though cutting is the threat that most people worry about damaging their hands, it is just as important to consider the effect that impact can have. The HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves feature high-performance IR-X smash guards that provide excellent impact protection. Also, due to the pre-curve design, though the gloves offer great protection, they do not limit or hamper your dexterity, making them comfortable to wear.

Quality Construction for Durability

It doesn't matter how much protection your gloves provide you with if they don't have the durability to be used repeatedly. The HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves has been designed to last for a long time with internal and external seams that use double stitched core-spun thread. With a reinforced saddle between the index finger and thumb, the glove is less likely to tear in one of the most vulnerable areas.

Practical Design

HexArmor has really taken the needs of emergency workers into consideration when creating the HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves, giving you a finished product that features clever design elements for better quality. One of these is the breathable Neoprene cuff that has a Velcro closure — making the glove both more comfortable and more secure. The HexArmor EXT 4011 Extrication Gloves also have a high-visibility design that is great for emergency workers who may be working in the dark near dangerous areas (e.g. roads) where extra visibility is always a boon.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.

I am using the gloves in my volunteer role as a Motorsport Marshal. They are very comfortable and have good feel to them. Fit is very good too.
