HexArmor Hercules 400R6E Cut Resistant Gloves

The HexArmor Hercules 400R6E Resistant Gloves are heavy duty, fully cut resistant safety gauntlet gloves which provide the highest blade cut resistance available on the market to protect against sharp metals, wires, woods and glass. Due to the design of the Hercules 400R6E these gloves provide optimal protection against cut hazards to the hand, fingers and wrists by layering SuperFabric branded materials and coating in a specialist silicon gripping surface on the palm.

As well as being extremely blade cut resistant the HexArmor Hercules 400R6E Cut Resistant Gloves are incredibly abrasion resistant and also feature optimal grip. The Hercules 400R6E Gloves are often used in waste management and utility industries and also used by the emergency services and local authorities. The Hercules 400R6E Gloves have blade cut protective zones not only on the palm but on the back of the hand and sides of the fingers and also up the wrist and start of the forearm making them a fully blade cut resistant single glove solution.

Suitable for use by vets, animal control and research scientists, the gloves can protect from slight bites from certain animals. These gloves are not suitable for use with venomous or more dangerous animals.

HexArmor branded gloves made by Polyco offer the highest quality products and are one of the leaders in safety glove technology and innovation. Their quality control is of the highest standard, products being subject to some of the most rigorous quality assurance regimes in the glove industry.

By design, the Hercules 400R6E is comfortable and provides medium grip and low level dexterity.

  Safety Gloves Sizing Information Guide

In order to select the correct size of safety glove, simply measure across your palm at the point indicated in the picture. Then compare your measurement with the chart below to ensure that you select the correct size of glove for your hand.

We would recommend using a tape measure or ruler to get the right measurement. Our measurements are based on centimetres.

Where your measurement falls on the boundary of two sizes, we would recommend selecting the larger of the two sizes for a comfortable fit. However, if you would specifically like your gloves to be a closer fit, perhaps for work that requires fine movements, select the smaller of the two sizes.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.
