HexArmor Penta Armor 1010 Cut Resistant Arm Sleeve

Ensuring that arms are protected during industrial work is just as important as wearing protective clothing on the hands. The HexArmor Penta Armor 1010 Sleeve provides protection from a variety of materials while also offering industry-leading cut resistance in a safer and more secure design.

Applications of the Penta Armor 1010 Arm Sleeve

Offering protection to the arm whilst carrying out physical tasks, the Penta Armor 1010 Arm Sleeve is suitable for multiple purposes, including:

  • Handling of metals
  • Handling of wires
  • Handling of wood
  • Handling of glass

Cut-Resistant Material

The Penta Armor 1010 Arm Sleeve is made from SuperFabric brand materials. This fabric provides industry-leading cut resistance, meaning the sleeve is ideal for anybody looking for high protection against cuts when working with wires, metal, wood, and glass.

High Visibility

The Arm Sleeve features a high-visibility colour scheme. The bright green hi-vis material allows the sleeve to be more easily seen, making it more practical for use in darker environments. This will help to eliminate the risk of receiving cuts and abrasions when handling sharp objects.

Launderable and Breathable

Lightweight and breathable, the reusable Arm Sleeve does not reduce the ventilation between the arm and the sleeve. Not only will the ability for air to reach the arm help to keep the surface of the skin cool beneath the fabric, but it will also help to remove moisture. With the arm sleeve also offering launderable properties, it can be washed and reused without compromising hygiene.

Secure Fit

The Penta Armor 1010 Arm Sleeve is designed to fit securely on the arm. When the correct size is worn, it is unlikely to fall or slip down the arm. It features a thumb loop and sleeve clip to help keep the arm guard in place, making it a safer and more secure option for wearing when handling potentially dangerous objects.

Sizing of the Penta Armor 1010 arm sleeve

Wearing the correct size of arm sleeve will provide the most effective level of protection. To measure the sleeve length required, measure the distance from the prominent bone in the centre of the back of the neck, across the shoulder, over the bent elbow, and down to the wrist bone. If the sleeve is to be worn over clothing, it is advisable to measure over clothing to ensure that the sleeve will not be too tight.

Please refer to the table below for further sizing information.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.
