The Materials - The protective lining on the palm of the HexArmor Pointguard X 6044 is made from three layers of SuperFabric branded material which features a lightweight durable fabric reinforced armour dimples to improve protection but still remain flexible. Please not this glove is only needle stick resistant on the palm and edges of thumb and fingers. The shell material is a soft, stretchy cotton blend which is breathable and comfortable to wear under another glove. The HexArmor Pointguard X 6044 is also washable on a gentle cycle. The material can be seen in the image below.

Testing -  The HexArmor Pointguard X 6044 Needle Stick Resistant Gloves have been tested to EN388 European protection standards against mechanical hazards. The Pointguard X 6044 Gloves have the highest cut resistance rating and also a high level of abrasion and puncture resistance. The gloves have also been independently tested specifically for hypodermic needle resistance and have scored the highest available rating.

Glove Liner

The HexArmor Pointguard X 6044 is highly needle stick resistant and is designed to be worn as a glove liner beneath a suitable outer glove, depending on the users needs, for example a disposable nitrile glove can be worn to protect against moisture and aid hygiene. It should also be noted that due to its design as an under glove the level of grip on the glove worn as a single glove solution is low.

Conditions - The Pointguard X 6044 is suitable for use in indoor, dry and clean working environments.

  Safety Gloves Sizing Information Guide

In order to select the correct size of safety glove, simply measure across your palm at the point indicated in the picture. Then compare your measurement with the chart below to ensure that you select the correct size of glove for your hand.

We would recommend using a tape measure or ruler to get the right measurement. Our measurements are based on centimetres.

Where your measurement falls on the boundary of two sizes, we would recommend selecting the larger of the two sizes for a comfortable fit. However, if you would specifically like your gloves to be a closer fit, perhaps for work that requires fine movements, select the smaller of the two sizes.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.
