Cutting Edge Protection

HexArmor are known for their state-of-the-art work gloves, using innovative and forward thinking technology that has refined what safety gloves are expected to offer. The Rig Lizard Arctic Gloves are no different, using HexArmor's IR-X Impact Exoskeleton to provide outstanding flexibility, while additional padding, impact protection and reinforced stitching protect the hands from a wide range of risks.

Rig Lizard Arctic Impact and Grip

These gloves don't just protect you from mechanical threats either, with a H2X and C100 Thinsulate interior that keeps your hands warm and dry, while their TP-X+ palm offers superb grip in wet, dry and oily work conditions. All of these field leading technologies allow you to work safely on rigs, in mines and in other high risk work places with your safety cared for.

Impact Protection

Impact protection on the back of the hands allows you to protect core areas from threats that can cause serious damage to your hands. A reinforced IR-X Impact Exoskeleton ensures that the back of your hands stay safe, which is ideal for industries such as mining, rigging and mechanics.

Thinsulate Lining for Cold Weather Work

Cold weather work is dangerous as your hands can become less mobile and lose their dexterity. The Rig Lizard 2026 use a H2X and C100 Thinsulate interior to keep your hands dry and warm, protecting you from the worst that the weather has to throw at you. As your hands are warmer, you'll have more control on the site too, giving you confidence to keep on working in total control.

High-Vis Liner Keeps You Safe

HexArmor have developed these gloves with every hazard in mind, meaning that no matter what situation you find yourself in at work your gloves will only help you stay safe. A hi-vis red and yellow colour scheme is hard to miss, which works to both keep you alert and allows either you or your gloves to be seen in darker working conditions.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.
