Readigloves Nytraguard ChemoPure Nitrile Gloves

Readigloves Nytraguard ChemoPure Nitrile Gloves are an example of the very latest innovation for high performance in protective hand care for medical, healthcare and laboratory settings. These highly versatile medical gloves provide protection in both a clinical and laboratory environment, whilst guarding the user against the risk of contact dermatitis, a common problem for wearers of nitrile gloves due to the absence of accelerator chemicals.

These light-weight, durable gloves allow the wearer to handle tasks with great sensitivity and dexterity as well as being durable and tough against rips and punctures. The Nytraguard ChemoPure Nitrile Gloves are designed to protect against chemical and viral penetration, including chemotherapy drugs, which can be highly toxic.

The Readigloves Nytraguard ChemoPure Nitrile Gloves are perfect for the majority of tasks in a healthcare setting, but can also be used for a huge variety of general tasks requiring hand protection such as cleaning and food preparation. These gloves have been left un-powdered to eliminate skin irritation or contamination.

Materials

The Readigloves Nytraguard ChemoPure Gloves are nitrile gloves and are made with synthetic materials rather than natural latex. The main material is called acrylonitrile butadiene. This product does not contain latex or styrene or chemical accelerators and are powder free, so are suitable for those with intolerance to latex.

The Nytraguard ChemoPure Gloves are designed to give more protection against chemical penetration as well as viral penetration.

Thanks to this advanced film formulation, the first big difference you will notice about ChemoPure is that it has been independently certified to Article 11B of the PPE Directive 89/686/EEC, as a Category lll complex design device.

Design

These gloves are designed with the user in mind and are created to be extra strong and suitable for medical use, such as administering drugs and examination. These gloves are designed to be easy donning and tactile. The gloves are sold in boxes of 100 and are ambidextrous. The fingers of each glove have a textured surface to increase dexterity, grip and touch sensitivity making them ideal when handling medical instruments.

Each glove has a beaded cuff which helps the donning of the gloves and makes them more resistant to rips and tears. The gloves are designed to help with infection prevention, ideal for a clinical setting. By design the gloves are more resistant to chemicals than others in the Nytraguard range and are a perfect combination of sensitivity and strength. They provide better dexterity and strength than vinyl gloves and none of the natural proteins of latex gloves.

Protection Against Chemicals

One of the most hazardous tasks for a clinician is the administration of highly toxic chemotherapy drugs. As the European standard, EN 374-3, does not directly address
the resistance to cytotoxic drugs, ChemoPure has been independently tested to the more rigorous ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standard D6978-05.
This standard measures the breakthrough resistance to a mandatory list of seven drugs, plus two more of the manufacturer’s choice. ChemoPure performs extremely well, even against the most aggressive drugs, Carmustine and ThioTEPA.

The ChemoPure gloves have the following resistance to these chemicals:

Chemical Protection Level Breakthrough Time (minutes)
Sodium Hydroxide 40% 6 >480
Ethidium Bromide 5% 6 >480
Formaldehyde 37% 6 >480
Phenol 0.1% 6 >480
Sodium Hypochlorite 10% - 13% 6 >480
Sulphuric Acid 50% 6 >480
Methanol 1.5% in Water 6 >480
Gluteraldehyde 50% 6 >480

Shelf Life

The ChemoPure Gloves should be stored in their box and away from direct sunlight. The gloves should last up to 3 years in their box. Each glove is designed to be a single use, disposable item. (Non sterile class 1 Medical Device)

Durability

These Nytraguard ChemoPure Gloves offer excellent protection and durability. The more durable the glove the longer it lasts and the less gloves you need to buy. In a clinical setting protection is of the highest importance, not just for the clinician but also to prevent cross infection to the patient.
