features of the sip protection anti-slip chainsaw gloves 2SA5
The palms of the SIP Anti-Slip Gloves are reinforced with rubber and complimented with a patch of tough leather on the top of the hand. The rubber promotes excellent grip with the leather bringing stability, while dense foam anti-cut inlay features in both hands as well. These attributes combine to mean that the gloves can resist cutting even when in contact with a moving chainsaw, up to a chain speed of 16 metres per second.
The gloves are made from 100% full grain leather and use strong Kevlar/aramid stitching to reinforce the joints - with Kevlar's tensile strength more than twice that of polyester or nylon. The wrists cuffs of the gloves are elasticated for comfort and warmth, but also feature artery protection for added security. Furthermore, the gloves have been hydrophobically treated to ensure they are oil and water repellent.
As per EU regulations, gloves must be tested against certain criteria to gain an EN 388 rating. These tests assess a gloves' resistance to common mechanical hazards. The SIP Protection Anti-Slip Chainsaw Gloves scores are as follows:
TEST PERFORMED | RATING (OUT OF 4) |
Resistance to abrasion | 3 |
Blade cut resistance | 1 |
Tear resistance | 3 |
Puncture resistance | 2 |
Chainsaw protection gloves must also carry an EN 381-7 rating. This specifically governs chainsaw gloves, and the SIP Anti-Slip Gloves have gained a rating of Type 'A' Class 0 (resistant up to 16m/s).
