Protection Ratings

EN 388

  • 2X43D

EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.

Incredible Cut Resistance

Level D cut-resistance demonstrates that the Tegera 8555T Gloves can withstand an amazing 22 newtons of downward force applied by a sharp implement before showing any visible signs of damage. This means that blades, metals and other sharp objects struggle to pierce the glove fabric.

Dyneema Fibre Technology

Manufactured on the foundations of the highly successful Tegera 8555 Work Safety Gloves, 8555T Gloves utilise Dyneema Technology to provide top-level cut resistance. Dyneema fabric is 40% lighter than Kevlar and Aramid fibres, making it ideal for applications which demand dexterity and precise handling.

Suitable Applications and Environments

Tegera 8555T Gloves are highly cut resistant without feeling bulky and overbearing. This marriage of dexterity and protection make a glove with a wide range of personal and professional application. Please see below for a few examples:

Touchscreen Compatible

Whether you're a foreman or a machine operator, the use of touchscreens in on-site applications is unavoidable. Save yourself the hassle of taking off and swapping out gloves by purchasing a pair of touchscreen compatible gloves. Suitable for use with smartphones and human machine interfaces.

Goatskin Leather Fabric

Goatskin has been used in glove manufacturing for centuries. Because of its dense thread structure, it is more durable than cowhide leather and is a lightweight fabric, making it the ideal material for use in glove production. It has a pebble-like texture that feels soft like skin. It is also inherently water-repellent, making it perfect for gloves used during the winter months.
