who can use the Delta Plus VV731 Knitted Polycotton Gloves?

Delta Plus Aton VV731 Knitted Polycotton Heat Resistant Gloves are suitable for the following applications:

Contact Heat Resistance for Safe Handling

Perhaps the most important aspect of the Delta Plus VV731 Safety Gloves is their 250°C heat resistance when handling material. This allows users working in kilns, blacksmithing yards, foundries and kitchens to handle seriously hot materials when transferring and inspecting objects and equipment.

Cold Weather Protection Throughout Winter

Handling material, products, tools, timber and equipment outside during the winter can wreak havoc on your hands. Anyone working in the haulage, shipping and cargo handling industries will know the value of a serious pair of cold-resistant safety gloves.

Delta Plus VV731 Gloves use a robust and warm foundation fabric to prevent the cold transferring from objects onto your hands. This means cold doesn't transfer, preventing freezing and numb fingers.

Para-Aramid Polycotton Design

Para-aramid is a synthetic fibre used to manufacture safety gloves because of its high abrasion, tear and heat resistance. Often used in factories, kilns and foundries, para-aramid fibres are incredibly heat-resistant, making them the ideal choice for mechanics, automotive professionals and heat-treatment plant workers.

Durable and Resistant Latex Coating

Latex is an incredibly durable, cost-efficient coating that is used worldwide to coat safety gloves. This widespread use and subsequently inexpensive nature makes gloves manufactured using it inexpensive with higher than standard puncture and tear resistance.

Palm Only Coating Benefits

A palm only coating is ideal for individuals wearing gloves all day, every day. It means that odour, perspiration and sweat are able to exit the glove naturally whilst you work, preventing the build-up of sweat, smell and other nasty and irritating microbials.

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.
