Please note that this is not a definitive list. The MaxiCut Ultra Gloves are suitable for most dry condition handling applications, regardless of whether high levels of mechanical protection are required (not including puncture resistance).

How Much Grip Do These Gloves Provide?

The GRIPtech technology of the Ultra gloves utilises a micro-cup finish for a more secure grip. This grooved surface catches against that of the lifted object, preventing them from slipping out of the wearer's grasp.

How Much Dexterity Will the MaxiCut Ultra Gloves Provide?

With an ultra-thin design, a close fit and a thickness of only one millimetre, the Ultra Gloves enable great all round hand dexterity. This makes them suitable for the secure handling of both large and small objects.

How Comfortable Are the MaxiCut Ultra Gloves?

Due to the innovative technology used to create these gloves, they are as comfortable as they are protective. They fit snugly around the hand and mimic its natural resting state. Fitted with a flexible design partially made from nylon, they don't restrict the hand as it moves, helping to prevent fatigue during strenuous work.

How Much Tactile Sensitivity Do the MaxiCut Gloves Offer?

Using the latest in knitting technology, the fingertips of these gloves have been formed with a smooth texture and a rounded shape. They fit closely over the fingers for a high level of tactility, so users are really able to feel the items they hold. As a result, they have maximum control during handling applications.

How Breathable Are the MaxiCut Ultra Gloves?

To stop hands from becoming uncomfortably warm and sweaty, the gloves feature a 360° breathable design. This helps promote air flow so hands don't overheat even during extended periods of wear.

How Should I Store These Gloves?

Exposing the MaxiCut Gloves to excessive heat or direct sunlight can reduce their shelf life and affect their overall performance. They are best stored in a cool, dry place to stop them from becoming discoloured, cracked or faded. If cared for as recommended, they have an anticipated shelf life of 5 years.

Can I Wash the MaxiCut Gloves?

These gloves can be washed according to the instructions listed below:

  • Use commercial laundry soap (do NOT use dry cleaning solutions)
  • Wash in warm to medium hot water (in temperatures up to 40°C or 104°F)
  • Wash for 10 minutes
  • Rinse in cold water
  • Repeat wash and rinse if gloves are especially dirty
  • Rinse in cold water
  • Tumble dry (at a maximum temperature 60°C or 140°F)

Add several pieces of canvas to the second wash if dirt is deeply ingrained in the gloves. The friction the canvas creates will help dislodge the dirt particles for a more thorough clean.

Please note that the mechanical resistance of these gloves can be affected by washing. It is not recommended that you wash these gloves more than 3 times.

Will These Gloves Irritate My Skin?

These gloves are designed for clean and comfortable use. They are laundered prior to packaging for optimal hygiene and have been evaluated for safe contact with skin by the OEKO-TEX Association. This means they can help keep hands clean, dry and fresh.

Washing Instructions

Gloves from ATG can be washed safely in the following way:

1. Use commercial laundry soap or detergent (do NOT use dry cleaning solutions!)
2. Wash in warm to medium hot water, do not exceed 104°F (40°C)
3. Wash for 10 minutes
4. Rinse in cold water.
5. Repeat wash and rinse if soiling is especially heavy
6. Rinse in cold water
7. Tumble dry - maximum temperature 140°F (60°C)

When laundering gloves that have especially heavy dirt or grease, include several pieces of heavy canvas in the second wash cycle - friction from the canvas against the gloves helps loosen and remove deep dirt.

IMPORTANT NOTE

During the use of gloves and the laundering process glove performance can and will deteriorate. For critical areas requiring cut and heat resistance tests need to be conducted after use and laundering to ensure that the performance criteria still meet the needs of those using the glove. Safety Gloves can accept no liability once gloves have been washed.

What is EN 388?

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.
