Polyco GIOKX Cut and Heat-Resistant Safety Gloves
If you're a mechanic or automotive professional, you'll know the value of lightweight gloves that maximise grip in the face of oil, grease and petrol. Machine and engine parts can get slippery and difficult to handle, making Polyco GIOKX Cut and Heat-Resistant Safety Gloves a must-have in workshops and on factory floors.
Designed with a twin-layer nitrile coating and micro-foam bubbles that maximise grip strength, Polyco GIOKX Oil-Resistant Gloves further bolster protection by allowing the user to handle material with a temperature not exceeding 100°C.

Protection Ratings and Safety Standards
EN 388: Mechanical Resistance
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used whilst working in and around mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 3 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level E |
What Does a Level E Cut-Rating Actually Mean?
Cut Level E Gloves are great for use in areas where it's likely you'll come into contact with sharp metal, exposed glass and blades from time to time. Though they do not offer as much protection as our maximum rated level F gloves, they do offer a greater amount of flexibility and control for manual handling in building and construction settings.
EN 407: Heat Resistance
EN 407 covers gloves that are sold as flame or heat resistant. There are a wide range of tests involved to determine whether or not a product provides a suitable level of protection in high temperature situations.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Burning Resistance | N/A |
Contact Heat Resistance | Level 1 (100°C) |
Convective Heat Resistance | N/A |
Radiant Heat Resistance | N/A |
Resistance to Small Molten Splashes | N/A |
Resistance to Large Molten Splashes | N/A |

What Are the Benefits of a Nitrile Coating?
Nitrile is an incredibly flexible coating that provides additional resistance to oil, fuel and chemicals. Nitrile is used as a protective coating in gloves because it matches the pliability of latex with the hazard and injury protection properties of a heavier, woven glove.
Exceptional Grip Strength
The inclusion of foam in this nitrile blend helps maximise grip strength and stability in oily and greasy environments. By absorbing microscopic droplets of slick moisture, these foam pockets help keep the glove face dry and grippy, preventing slips, drops and accidents in the workplace.
Double Down On Protection
If one layer of nitrile isn't enough for you, Polyco have added a second layer of nitrile to their coating blend which further bolsters grip strength where abrasive and sharp material is concerned. This second layer creates a durable barrier in the face of jagged and serrated edges, ensuring your gloves don't rip, tear or split on the job.
Contact Heat Resistant Coating
HVAC professionals and mechanics need guarantees about the heat-resistance of their gloves. Shielding you against 100°C of heat, these gloves are perfect for fitting pipes, removing engine parts and replacing heated machine parts.
Flexible Knit Wrist Cuff
A flexible knit wrist is never a bad design choice. Perfect for keeping you comfy and for ensuring dirt, debris and dust stay out of your gloves, the knit wrist on Polyco High Visibility Gloves is soft and flexible.
Maximum Abrasion and Tear Resistance Rating
Polyco GIOKX Cut Level E Gloves boast the maximum level 4 abrasion and tear resistance ratings under EN 388 2016. This demonstrates their durability in the face of constant contact with jagged and dangerous material which would otherwise split fabric and cause injury.
High Visibility Design
If you work as an engineer or fitter on fast paced and busy sites, visibility matters. Designed to keep you safe and seen at all times, the neon yellow design also helps in dimly lit conditions and when working outdoors through the night.
