How Much Protection Against Cuts Do the Portwest A622 Gloves Provide?

The Portwest A622 Gloves achieve a level C in EN 388 Cut Resistance or a level C under the new standard that was introduced in 2016. This means that the gloves offer a higher level of protection that is ideal for handling things with sharp edges, in particular glass, metal and other materials that you can expect to find in tasks like packaging, warehousing, engineering and mechanics. Unlike other gloves with high cut resistance, the dexterous nature of these gloves means that they are extremely versatile and suitable for more dexterous jobs too.

How Much Protection Against Heat Will the Portwest A622 Gloves Provide?

Achieving a level 1 in EN 407 Contact Heat Resistance, these gloves will protect your hands against contact temperatures of 100°C. They are still quite thin and sensitive, so you should be able to handle hot parts and equipment without dropping the item and without burning yourself too. For tasks in automotives, mechanics and engineering, these gloves really do excel.

Why Are the Portwest A622 Cut Gloves a Best Seller for Cut Protection?

The Portwest Cut-Resistant Gloves are a top pick across a wide range of industries that demand cut protection. This combined with their heat resistant qualities means that they are suitable for many different applications. They use a specially crafted HPPE, glass fibre and PU coating to ensure the best cut resistance on offer, and with their high abrasion resistance the user can be confident that they will continue to provide protection for long periods of time.

How Do the Portwest Gloves Improve Productivity?

For many factories, warehouses and assembly plants, minimising costs, improving safety and increasing productivity are three constant battles. These gloves improve productivity because they manage to achieve the things that many gloves don't; combining exceptional cut and heat resistance with the dexterity and grip needed to get on with your job without making mistakes.

How Do the Portwest Gloves Reduce Costs?

Leading on from the previous point on productivity, these gloves can also reduce costs. Reasons include:

  • Cost Effective: Extremely affordable gloves for the protection that they provide
  • Durability: Let you save money by lasting for so long that they don't require constant replacement
  • Protection: Wide range of protection means that you don't need to buy different gloves for different tasks within your workplace
  • Safety: Safe design reduces chances of staff and workers sustaining injuries on the job
  • Productivity: By improving productivity, it means more work can get done, which means that more money is made

How Durable Are the Portwest Cut-Resistant Gloves A622?

You might be fooled by the costs of these gloves into thinking that they aren't too durable. The HPPE and glass fibre liner is extremely hard-wearing, with these gloves achieving a level 4 in abrasion and tear resistance. This means that they can withstand a wide amount of knocks and scrapes without them sustaining damage. Gone are the days of replacing your gloves at the end of a shift, these can last weeks when used in the intended environment.

How Dexterous Are the Portwest Cut-Resistant Gloves?

The materials in these glove includes HPPE, a high performance polyethylene that is machine knitted, and therefore provides exceptional dexterity. While you can't pull all of your thumbs back, you have enough dexterity to handle small items easily. This includes things like knuts and bolts, hammers and spanners and other tools and machinery.

How Sensitive Are the Portwest PU Coated Gloves?

The gloves are very sensitive, partly because their HPPE liner allows them to be so. You can write with a pen just as easily as you could do without wearing the gloves, meaning that using tools and equipment is just as easy. This makes these gloves about as useful for handling things as you would be without wearing any gloves at all.

How Grippy Are the Portwest A622 PU Coated Gloves?

You wouldn't want to use these gloves in greasy or wet environments, but when it comes to dry environments then you'd struggle to find any better suited gloves. They use a polyurethane 3/4 coating which acts almost sticky to the touch, making handling items extremely easy. It can reduce chances of you from dropping items, again improving dexterity.

How Comfortable Are the Portwest PU Coated Gloves?

The Portwest Gloves are completely seamless, meaning that there isn't any weak points in their design. This allows the gloves to move more freely, especially when you are using your hands to grab tools and machinery. This level of freedom reduces hand fatigue over an extended period of time.

How Breathable Are the Portwest PU Coated Gloves?

Working in warehouses where you spend a lot of time handling tools can make your hands fairly sweaty. The good thing about the Portwest PU Gloves is that they are very breathable, with microscopic holes in the HPPE and glass fibre liner allowing air to circulate the gloves. The palm dipped PU increases ventilation too, perfect for longer periods at work.
