EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of garments used for safety and protection. It determines a fabric's performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a garment in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 4 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level F |
SUITABLE APPLICATIONS FOR THE HEXARMOR AP322 CUT RESISTANCE APRON
A Level F Apron is a brilliant addition to any workwear wardrobe. Protect yourself against blades, knives, machine misfire and unforeseen accidents. Please see the list below for a few example professions:
Level F Cut Resistance
Level F is the maximum rating awarded under EN 388. The test involved involves lowering a sharp implement onto a piece of fabric until a certain level of damage is done. Level F dictates that a sharp implement would have to generate in excess of an incredible 30 newtons of pressure to cause damage.
So What Does this Mean for You?
In the real world, this rating is the difference between a blade, knife, machine part or serrated edge cutting straight through a piece of fabric to cause life-threatening injury and it either being deflected or lodged in between tightly woven cut-resistant fibres. Don't take the chance.
Innovative SuperFabric Cut Resistant Material
SuperFabric is an innovative fabric blend developed in 1996 to provide a lightweight, revolutionary solution to work and trade problems. SuperFabric is incredibly slight, allowing the user to move, flex and bend as much as required without obstruction.
Double Down on Protection
Thought one layer of ultra cut-resistant material was enough? Think again. In an unprecedented design move, HexArmor have doubled down on their understanding of protection. The AP322 Apron comes complete with two layers of SuperFabric at the stomach and chest area, maximising protection and blowing the competition out the water.
Extended Design
Coverage is the name of the game. Any exposed skin poses a serious threat in dangerous environments. With dimensions of 24" by 30", the HexArmor Level F Apron guarantees that none of the torso is left exposed. Simply wrap the apron around your waist, tie it off and get back to what you do best.
