Who Can Use the MaxiFoam Oil-Resistant Gloves?

Made from a stretchy nylon liner and coated in nitrile foam, the MaxiFoam Gloves are designed for general handling in oily or dirty conditions. They also have a high level of abrasion resistance for protection against rough or coarse materials and are therefore suitable for mediumweight outdoor handling. We would recommend them for the following industries and applications:

  • Automotive
  • Car mechanics
  • Component handling
  • Construction
  • Engineering
  • Handling small castings
  • Industrial
  • Light engineering
  • Machinist
  • Maintenance
  • Material handling
  • Mechanics
  • Offshore oil
  • Oil filtration
  • Oil handling
  • Oil operations
  • Oil refining
  • Packaging

Please note that this is only a list of recommendations and that the MaxiFoam Gloves are suitable for many other applications. Flexible, grippy and resistant to abrasions as well as oils, they can be used for most outdoor handling tasks.

How Oil Resistant Are the MaxiFoam Gloves?

The nitrile coating on the MaxiFoam gloves is designed to channel oil away from the surface, preventing the substance from absorbing into the glove. This covers the palms, knuckles and backs of the hands to keep them clean while ensuring users have total control over the tools and objects they handle. However, it is recommended that users avoid allowing the wrists of the gloves to come into contact with oils as they are uncoated and will not offer the same level of resistance.

How Do the MaxiFoam Gloves Protect Your Hands?

The MaxiFoam Gloves don't just protect against oil; they also offer protection against mechanical risks including cuts and abrasions. The extent to which they protect against such risks can be proven by their EN 388 scores. Following relevant EN 388 tests, the MaxiFoam Gloves attained the following ratings:

EN 388

  • 4121A
Hazard Level of Resistance
Abrasion Resistance Level 4
Cut Resistance Level 1
Tear Resistance Level 2
Puncture Resistance Level 1
Blade Cut Resistance Level A

What Does This Mean?

The MaxiFoam Gloves have Level 4 abrasion resistance, the highest level protective gloves can achieve in this category. As a result, they offer outstanding protection against rough or coarse materials and are able to resist damage caused by scratches for better longevity.

How Much Grip Will These Gloves Provide in Oily Conditions?

When working in oily or greasy conditions, it's vital that gloves are able to facilitate a strong grip. To guarantee this, the MaxiFoam Gloves are partially coated in foam nitrile which repels oils away from the palm. Not only does this protect the section of the glove most likely to come into contact with oily surfaces, it also enables controlled handling in dry or slippery environments.

How Flexible Are the MaxiFoam Gloves?

The MaxiFoam Gloves are made with an incredibly flexible 15g nylon liner that is designed to stretch with the natural movement of the hand. The nitrile foam coating is light enough to resist oil and mechanical risks without impeding dexterity, so users can retain as much hand control as possible.

How Do The MaxiFoam Gloves Protect Your Wrists?

In dirty conditions, debris and irritants can sometimes slip into work gloves through their wrists. To ensure this does not happen, the cuffs on the MaxiFoam Gloves fit snugly against the wrists. This also stops the gloves from riding up the hands for consistent protection, control and comfort.

How Comfortable Are The MaxiFoam Gloves?

Featuring a seamless knitted liner that bends easily with the hand and fingers, the MaxiFoam gloves offer high levels of comfort and flexibility. Minimal strikethrough also ensures the main component in contact with the hands is the nylon liner. This keeps the gloves well-ventilated for cool, dry hands and prevents any irritation caused by contact with the nitrile coating.

Can I Buy the MaxiFoam Oil-Resistant Gloves as a Single Pair?

These gloves are also available as a single pair for those who aren't interested in bulk buying. They can be accessed using the link below.

Can I Wash the MaxiFoam Oil-Resistant Gloves?

The MaxiFoam Gloves are designed use for dirty and oily conditions, and will likely need to be washed now and again. It is recommend you follow the below instructions or refer to the PDF file of Laundry Instructions to avoid damaging the gloves:

  • Wash for 10 minutes
  • Rinse in cold water
  • Repeat wash and rinse if gloves are especially dirty

Gloves from ATG can be washed safely in the following way:

1. Use commercial laundry soap or detergent (do NOT use dry cleaning solutions!)
2. Wash in warm to medium hot water, do not exceed 104°F (40°C)
3. Wash for 10 minutes
4. Rinse in cold water.
5. Repeat wash and rinse if soiling is especially heavy
6. Rinse in cold water
7. Tumble dry - maximum temperature 140°F (60°C)

When laundering gloves that have especially heavy dirt or grease, include several pieces of heavy canvas in the second wash cycle - friction from the canvas against the gloves helps loosen and remove deep dirt.

IMPORTANT NOTE

During the use of gloves and the laundering process glove performance can and will deteriorate. For critical areas requiring cut and heat resistance tests need to be conducted after use and laundering to ensure that the performance criteria still meet the needs of those using the glove. Safety Gloves can accept no liability once gloves have been washed.
