Protection Ratings for Polyflex Hydro Cut Resistant Gloves
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 3 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level C |

Level C Cut Resistance Rating
A Level C cut rating indicates that the fabric can resist up to 15 newtons of downward force applied by a sharp implement. This is a high degree of resistance and makes Polyco Hydro Cut Gloves suitable for handling sharp and jagged material like metals, blades, timber and knives.
Water-Repellent Coating
Unlike most other water-resistant gloves, the Hydro C5 gloves have a hydrophobic solution applied to them to keep hands dry in wet conditions. This means that the gloves don't have to be fully coated and can offer an exceptional level of flexibility while still being suitable for use in wet conditions.
Innovative Patented SilverClear Design
The SilverClear range are formulated using a micro-blend of silver which is a natural antimicrobial agent which works to actively kill bacterial, fungus and viruses that appear and land on the hand. The additive works to protect the glove and your hands from tiny specs of mould and bad odours that arise throughout the day.
What Are the Benefits of a Nitrile Palm Coating
Nitrile is an incredibly absorbent coating, making it the perfect coating choice for a glove designed for damp and wet environments. Nitrile works tirelessly to suck up moisture which in turn prevents slips and grip issues.
Accidents arising from a compromised grip cost businesses untold amounts in lost product and injury claims every year. Minimise the risk by wearing gloves that prevent it.
What Makes a Palm Only Coating Special?
A palm only coating means that the back of the gloves is left uncovered. This allows odour, perspiration and smells to exit the glove naturally, preventing the onset and development of nasty conditions like dermatitis and eczema, as well as the build up of smell and odour.
Durable and Comfortable Grip
The Hydro C5 gloves also feature a nitrile foam palm coating. This gives the palm of your hand an incredible level of cushioning as well as grip, ensuring that your hands are as comfortable as possible no matter the condition or task.
Lightweight and Protective Liner
The liner in the Hydro C5 gloves provides it with the maximum levels of cut, abrasion and tear resistance to ensure your hands stay incredibly protected while you work. Despite the high level of protection offered by the liner it remains incredibly lightweight and comfortable to wear, ensuring that tasks can be carried out easily and safely.
Touch-Sensitive Fingertips
The fingertips of the Hydro C5 gloves are incredibly tactile and touch-sensitive. As well as helping you feel objects more easily, this also enables you to use touchscreens accurately and easily without having to remove the gloves.
